Shooting on the latest film...
Shooting on the latest film has been delayed. I've heard two variations as to the reason why, the first being location problems and the second being the exec producer wanting to look over the existing footage to see what we might need to reshoot. Still, I know I have at least one more day of shooting due and possibly more if they need to reshoot anything (just not the final death scene please, because as much fun as fake blood is...). Still, it's only T-minus five weeks til I leave for London, and I'm starting to get a little worried they won't pay me before I leave. Since we have no way of knowing how long the delays will be, I believe a call to my manager is in order just to find out if they know approximate pay-time.
-------Wow, I must be psychic. I just called my manager and got a kind of hurried "Can I call you back?", which, no problem. Not thirty seconds after I hung up with them, Deanna, the production coordinator from the film calls me to let me know that she was going over accounting paperwork and had they cut me a check yet?
...Hee. So now I just wait to hear back from my manager, confirm that they haven't received any money yet, confirm that yes, I have worked 8 days so far and not 7, and then hopefully get some money! Wee!
My dad works for the DEA and lives with my stepmom over on the east coast and while he's always extremely supportive, he's blissfully ignorant about the inner workings of the entertainment industry (along with the lucky 90% of America). So I was a little surprised to receive an email from him this morning:

Eh? Do they know this woman? Do they expect me to just email her my headshot? Does she know who I am? Did they pluck her name out of a Hollywood Reporter that got mistakenly mailed to their house? Was she part of a drug bust and now owes my father a favor for keeping it from the fuzz (which would be AWESOME. Imagine that conversation...)?
I wrote him back asking him about it and letting him know that without some sort of personal communication, merely sending my headshot in to this woman (who, incidentally, is an associate at a casting agency in MARYLAND) is like throwing a lit match in with a bonfire. I'm also fairly certain that The Wire shoots in Baltimore. Hmm.
Still, as always, they're trying to help. Yay support. My favorite bit is the "High" level of importance they give the email, though. Awww...
